The Future of Mediation III Symposium

Ibn Haldun University Dispute Resolution Application and Research Center (UÇAM) will organize a symposium titled "The Future of Mediation III" on April 17-19, 2026.

This symposium, where papers can be presented on all areas related to mediation law, aims to evaluate current developments in the field, and applications can also be made on interdisciplinary topics.

The symposium will be held in person on Friday, April 17, 2026, and online on April 18–19, 2026.

Participants attending the first day of our symposium in person at the Başakşehir Campus on April 17, 2026, will receive a certificate of attendance.

Application and Abstract Summaries

Abstracts for applications must include the following elements:

  • 500-1000 words
  • Maximum of 5 keywords (Turkish and English)
  • References
  • In Turkish or English (English abstracts are required for Turkish papers Required)
  • Short biography of the author (including the institution where they work, ORCID, and contact information)

The abstract must be submitted to ucam@ihu.edu.tr by March 1, 2026 (Click here for sample abstracts).

Abstracts will undergo scientific pre-review using a blind review method, and accepted papers will be presented at the symposium. Authors whose papers are accepted will be notified via email on March 27, 2026.

Each presentation should last no longer than 15 minutes. For papers written by more than one author, the number and identities of the presenter(s) must be specified. Presentations will be recorded using video recording methods and may be published in channels approved by the Organizing Committee if deemed necessary. Submitted papers must not have been previously presented or published anywhere else and must be the original work of the participants.

The members of the Symposium Organizing Committee have been officially appointed by the Rectorate of Ibn Haldun University. The symposium meets the current Associate Professor Application Criteria. The letter of appointment and participation certificate will be sent via email upon acceptance of the paper. After the selection of accepted papers, the symposium program will be announced and communicated to participants via email.

Publication

All abstracts presented at the symposium will be published as an ISBN-registered e-book by an international publishing house.

Authors who submit abstracts are deemed to have consented to this publication if their abstracts are accepted.

Authors will not be paid any royalties for the symposium proceedings or full-text publication.

Papers accepted for the symposium and deemed suitable for full-text publication will be considered for publication in a special issue of the international peer-reviewed Ibn Haldun Studies Journal, provided that the full text is submitted to the email address specified above by July 1, 2026. Board Members

Abstract Writing Guidelines

1. General

The abstract title, abstract, and keywords must be provided in both English and Turkish in the abstract.

2. Abstract

Abstracts must include a Turkish and English abstract section consisting of 500-1000 words. Those presenting in English should write the English abstract first, followed by the Turkish abstract.

3. Keywords

A maximum of 5 keywords should be written below both the Turkish and English abstract sections.

4. Language

The conference book will be published in Turkish and English. Full-text papers submitted in English will be published in English.

5. Writing Rules

  • Times New Roman font style,
  • Main text font size 12,
  • Footnote font size 10,
  • 1.5 line spacing,
  • Periods should not be used in abbreviations,
  • A Table of Contents and Abbreviations section should not be included.

6. Citation Method

The Chicago Manual Styles (16th or 17th editions) will be used as the citation method and reference list.

For full-text papers, the writing rules of the Journal of Ibn Khaldun Studies will be applied. (See)
